At Prequel Consulting, we have identified a need for a quality process that can significantly improve the work of Enterprises in ensuring that they can deliver on their commitments towards inclusion.
From our previous conversations you will recall our fundamental point - that the most effective step we can take in optimising our employee and community relations is to ensure we have a foundation of inclusive behaviour. This is how we can make real change.
Almost everything we have learned in the last few years screams at us that we must respect people for who they are. That way they can contribute to our Enterprise’s success.
All of our goals depend upon our daily interactions with every human with whom we interact. Our everyday interactions will define our success.
Verified Inclusive Practice - is a novel quality process to ensure that your Enterprise approach to inclusion can be defined, assessed and then shared with your Enterprise community.
Stay tuned for more news on Verified Inclusive Practice in future postings.
There are many sources of individual diversity - gender, differing abilities, religion, race and cultural background are generally well understood. However there are many other forms of diversity that might be acquired through lifestyle choice, through illness or accident or through other life experiences.
An inclusive workplace not only accepts and respects the diversity of its people, it works to create a sense of belonging and connection to the workplace.
What has emerged most strongly in recent research is that ultimate enterprise effectiveness on hard business performance measures are strongly connected with the ability to create inclusive workplaces, simply because people can contribute more when they feel they belong in their workplace. diversity equity and inclusion
Inclusive practices are the every-day, person to person interactions and the way we communicate with everyone connected to our organisations and businesses*.
Inclusive practices are the cornerstone of healthy enterprises and those which are productive and effective.
There is a lot of confusion about the central idea of diversity and common definitions of organisational culture.
It really is important to understand that any plan for diversity or aspirations for culture must start at the same point and that is: We can only build an effective group culture when the individuals share in a strong affiliation to the group.
All Enterprises are also actually social organisations because they are based upon relationships and personal interactions. These interactions must be shaped by inclusive practices so that people feel that they are connected to and really belong in our enterprises.
* At Prequel we use the word enterprise to encompass the wide range of organisations we work with to promote inclusive practices.
Prequel consulting offers a unique set of skills and tools to enterprises to make Inclusive practices real and effective. We have experience in systematic implementation of corporate HR, change and culture programs so that your inclusive practices move forward in practical and tangible ways.
Many enterprises are working hard to understand inclusivity and include those practices in the everyday lives of their businesses. Most enterprises also understand the importance of shared behaviours and values – or what we now refer to as organisational culture.
Prequel consulting understands how these ideas of inclusivity and culture and are linked – only with an implementation strategy to activate and embed inclusive practices into the life of your enterprise, will it prove possible to generate your intended corporate culture.
The one characteristic we all share is the need for a safe and respectful workplace, and inclusive practices are the only way to achieve that outcome.
My name is Tony Gargan and I am the founder of Prequel Consulting. Throughout my career I have been interested in how relationships and culture define enterprises, in their character and also in their performance. What I have learnt is that acknowledgement, acceptance, and respect for people, whatever their background, is the cornerstone of a healthy and effective enterprise. It is the real foundation of any enterprise or corporate culture. The respectful enterprise builds its relationships with employees and the community through inclusive practice. These inclusive practices are what I have established Prequel consulting to help enterprises understand, implement and achieve.
1. We have extensive senior executive and consulting experience in the private, public and community sectors.
2. We have defined the role of every-day inclusive practices as being the key to a healthy and successful enterprise.
